Travessera de Gracia Apartment.
Barcelona, Spain.

Located in a typical chamfer-corner of the Barcelona’s Cerdà urban block, the apartment has spectacular views of the Sagrada Familia, the sea and Barcelona’s new towers, as well as a great orientation. The original apartment responded to the characteristic chamfered layout, with several rooms located in the front façade and a few linear smaller spaces next to an interior patio. The project aims to transform the previous layout by opening up to the space to allow light in and therefore clear up the space at the front. By creating a double ring of public spaces parallel to the front area, and resolving the organization of rooms and services next to the patio by rethinking the corridor, the light and views become the main protagonist of the apartment. The services are all organized within a solid blackboard object that acts as a node between the public and private spaces.
